There will 100% be a baathist insurgency. I expect the syrian social nationalist party and remnants of the baathist party and syrian arab army to reactivate like what happened in Iraq.

He's alive. He's confirmed to be in Russia. If he stays alive, he *could* return.

Call it copium, but I wouldn't be surprised with anything coming out of the Civil War in syria. Fucking anything is possible at this point.
