1518, the pope (Leo X, iirc) defended the Talmud and encouraged its spread through the printing press.

Europeans who practice Christianity sometimes get wise to the jews... but as a jewish religion, Christianity never does.

That's not entirely accurate... Pope Leo X merely allowed the printing of the Talmud; he didn't defend it. He actually wanted footnotes in the Talmud defending Christianity where the Jews blasphemed Christ/Mary or attacked Christianity.

Christianity is the religion of God, whereas Judaism is the religion of the Antichrist.
