You're assuming that all of our politicians have to be blackmailed. What if they enjoy the abhorrent evils they commit? What if they record it merely for later viewing "pleasure", similar to why CP exists?

Doesn't matter if they enjoy it, what makes it powerful blackmail material is that releasing evidence of it would destroy them.

That's what I was pointing to. When discussing this topic, I almost always see people imply that our politicians are only blackmailed, suggesting that if they weren't blackmailed they'd be fine and upstanding citizens. It's implying that the person being blackmailed feels guilty about what they've done, that they know it's wrong.

It's safe to assume that the people in power enjoy their evil, hedonism, and sexual sins. The blackmail is only relevant in that they don't want the public to find out, because they hate the public and lie to us. That's the only power that the blackmail holds over them.

Yeah, it's probably safe to assume the higher up ones tend to have a taste for it. Probably how they keep rising up the ranks.
