I can't understand why the faith takes root in some countries but not in others (Japan). They just don't have many believers there.

It did take root in Japan, until the jews nuked it. One of the most recent as well as accurate Marian apparitions that predicted the current degenerate state of the Church and Man as a whole came from a mystic Nun of Japan.

Of course the main reason Christianity has declined in Japan even post war is the same reason its declined in the west as well, namely the rampant (((Materialism))) that forms the backbone of the Japanese corporate system. Faith finds it hard to take root when the people are distracted by worldly concerns and mindless entertainment.
