>I didn’t feel docile then. But the more time I spent in America, the more integrated I became, and the less I hung out with my Soviet immigrant peers, the more obedient and afraid I got. I felt this docility in my body. It had a psychical component.

>I see now that America is a deeply pacified society. And Americans can’t admit it. All this gun culture stuff is just a front, a way of masking a grim reality. That’s why this assassination is exhilarating to so many.

The reality of American "Freedom" post 1913 is that the government constantly tells the populace how "free" they are and allows them to be as degenerate as they want (because vice makes you weaker) so that they no longer know the difference between Libertinism (which is the worst form of slavery, "a man has as many masters as he has vices", as St Agustine wisely said) and true Liberty (The freedom to do what is good and right, which cannot exist in a degenerate society where the devil is the chiefmost tyrant). Americans need to realize that the government simply telling you that you are free does not equate to actual freedom (in the same way that the constitution doesnt "give" any rights, it merely recognizes some of those granted by God). Even without the Constitution we would have the Right to Bear Arms, the difference is that the Government would be violating the Will of God if it failed to recognize said Right.
