These soulless golems think civilization is just technology and material goods, and dont realize it has *already collapsed*. Religion, Art, and Philosophy are also an important part of civilization, and all of those things have taken 10 steps backward for every technological advancement we have made (not necessarily due to the technology, but because (((Materialistic))) people neglect all those things in favor of mindless consumption). We are in a true societal Dark Age, but technology masks the rot by providing the illusion everything is running normally. If a massive EMP wave were to wipe out all electronics for a month, we would see how utterly savage everyone has degenerated into being.
