My family's always put an angel on top of the tree rather than a star

Isn't the star because the shepherds were told by the angel to go to the star that marked the site of the birth of Christ?

Yeah this is a dumb disagreement. Star or angel. Pick whichever you prefer.

Yeah, Star of Bethlehem. It's usually depicted as an [8-pointed star with a central cross shape.](https://i.etsystatic.com/16837962/r/il/80e5f1/3665602129/il_fullxfull.3665602129_3he5.jpg) Star of Remphan, or the hexagram, (as shown in this comic) is two equilateral triangles imposed on each other at 180 degrees. "As above, so below" as the occultist phrase goes.

This actually reminds me that in first grade we had to make hexagram Christmas ornaments in class, I'm guessing as some sort of "cultural inclusion" BS, even though I don't think there was a single jewish kid at my school. My brother didn't want to hang it up on the tree, lol.

Based, mine has been using the same hand-me-down angel from the 50s.
