Samaria and Judea hated each other, and after the Assyrians kicked the Israelites out of Samaria, they replaced them with a bunch of pagans who essentially skin-suited the Hebrew religion and mixed it with their own paganism. 2 Kings chapter 17 describes this, I think some Judeans might have re-conquored it in part, but Samaritans are incredibly mixed and look like pajeets.
