If you read the Bible at all, you'll know that one of the themes is that prophets (AKA philosophers) are also warriors. Abraham famously lead a night raid that destroyed rampaging kings who pillaged Sodom, for instance.

There is an idea, a WRONG idea, that warriors are not welcome in "civil" society. Any society that can't welcome warriors into their homes isn't a society at all. They have plucked out their eyes and cut off their hands and think they are all-seeing and all-capable, when they are not.

IF YOU ARE THE WARRIOR TYPE --- you are welcome in my home. Don't even worry about your appearance or smell. I have taught my kids that war is not some evil act we should avoid at all costs. It is in fact a holy sacrament commanded by God from time to time.

IF YOU ARE THE PHILOSOPHER TYPE -- you need to pick up a sword and learn how to swing it. There is no excuse in this age for not being at least semi-capable as a fighter. There is plenty of instructions on how to gain muscle mass, how to shoot a rifle, how to properly arm yourself and such. You should already be spending lots of time outdoors, and the idea of sleeping on the ground should not frighten you.

Christianity and Stoicism share a lot of ideals. There's a natural fit. Stoicism creates warrior men who are extremely resistant to their circumstances and capable of creating great changes in society.

Christians should have the same strength, even though we call on a different source for our power. Our God is God of DEATH and God of LIFE, God of PEACE and GOD OF WAR. He asks us to follow him!

Do NOT exclude yourself from the gene pool just because you are a warrior type. In fact, you SHOULD be procreating more than the passive types in our society. We NEED your genes in the next generation. But more importantly -- DO NOT SILENCE YOURSELF. You need to pass on your ideals and experiences to the next generation. They need to know the power that is in them and how to tap into that.
