Christ was born there to bring them a new covenant. To get rid of their old hard hearted and sinful ways and to experience the joy of contrition and forgiveness.

I dont think these people are even descendants of the original Jews, because the Jews realized God had removed them from the Holy Land for some reason, even if they refused to admit it was over the Deicide. Ironically there was a huge push within jewery *against* the establishment of a jewish state because they knew it was against the Will of God, until Zionism emerged, and blasphemously declared that the "jewish" (in reality Gnostic Kabbalists) people themselves were the collective "messiah" and thus had a right to re-establish a kingdom in the holy land.

They did all this because they wanted a warlord & king messiah who was going to lead them to victory and supremacy over the Romans. When Christ came and told them essentially, "no, we're above that", they preferred to kill him and try for another messiah who'd do what they wanted.
