No but along that line i remember a very popular vpn headquartered in israel. Sorry i dont remember which.

Maybe, but I kind-of doubt that the ID verification people know anything about the account. They just need to verify the ID, and they don't need to know the account details for that.

Based on people saying it was old addresses, etc., I think it's probably someone who doesn't have full access to identities, but can see the email addresses associated to the accounts (which is probably not very restricted).

There have been so many data breaches over the years that any emails you've used to sign up for anything are almost certainly out there, and linked to your address (or an old address).
