Why pet owners castrate their pets instead of sterilizing?

I've just learned that castrated pets have health issues, but sterilized pets are healthy as before. So why castrating them instead of sterilizing?

They are good questions to which I don't have an answer

Except the behaviour modifications are true

My dog has spent the last 6 months chemically castrated and it's made the world of difference.

So he's having the full works next week.
