Why were desert people not allowed pork?
European Christians do not forego pork. Is it because the New Testament being a new covenant?

Pork had problems as cattle for the too much diseases it tends to get in cattle spaces. They were considered unsafe. It was a sanitary ruling, but you know how dogmatic people interpret things.
