This type of behavior is mainly exhibited in animals still of breeding age. Elephant herds will band together to kill old bulls if they continue to outcompete younger bulls past the point they can breed. Boomers are old bulls who think they're still in their prime because they were told they'll live forever.

Boomers do have this delusion where they think they're still 34 years old. They're not and no one cares about their opinion anymore.
