Traditionally, according to the Catholic Church, the most the Government was entitled to was around 10%, because that was also the tithing amount. We have states that think they are entitled to more of their citizen's wealth than God Himself. My father isnt a very wealthy man by any measure, even if we are comfortably middle class, and the state loots 20% from him every year, and this is in a rather *low tax* area of the country.
