When I was in school it was cool to hate george W bush, the difference was that the hate was being pushed mainstream and alternative social media wasnt big yet.

You must be too old or young to relate. W was the butt of every joke on TV, they even made a tv show about him on comedy central. All the punk bands and shit kids liked were saying fuck Bush. It wasn't anything near that with Obama, they did the opposite by trying to make him look cool.
