A lot of our problems stem from the enlightenment. One of the most egregious examples is egalitarianism, which has done nothing but purity spiral downward, pulling all of society down with it, requiring more and more things be "equal", all for the sake of "equality". At first, egalitarianism helped social hierarchy and mistreatment of the poor (directed more at men's status), but then again, sound economic theory, and giving people the freedom to produce and trade what they want (a lot of which is enumerated under capitalism, even though capitalism doesn't hold sole ownership of those ideas), lifted more people out of poverty than what egalitarianism achieved.

Feminism stems from egalitarian thought. Diversity, affirmative action, open borders, mass non-white immigration, foreign aid, DEI, hiring quotas, common core, anti-White discrimination, all of it stems from egalitarianism. Censorship of "problematic" crime stats, welfare use stats, voting stats, IQ stats, behavioral patterns, "hate speech", and "racism" all stem from egalitarianism. All flavors of sexually degenerate behavior, including trans and pedophilia, all stems from egalitarianism. Even many of the fundamental tenets of communism stems from egalitarianism, as well as democracy on the other side of the corrupt coin, the idea that everyone must have an equal vote and say.

It's a never ending pursuit of trying to make unequal things equal, or claiming they're equal (a lie). Wisdom requires proper identification of unequal things, discrimination between them, knowing that they're different and why, and treating them accordingly (i.e. differently).
