I've been out of the work force since the holocough. Back in my day, you'd get an interview, meet with the manager and he'd pretty much hire you on the spot. Before the corona bullshit, I only ever failed 2 interviews out of about 9 and it was because I was high as fuck. Wish I never touched the shit.

Now I've been looking for a job for months and can't get one. Applications are all online. You can't just go and say whats up to the manager and get hired. In fact, managers don't even do the fucking hiring. They tell you to go fill out the application on indeed or whatever. 9/10 times this goes completely unanswered. In the rare occasion that it does not go unanswered, the first step is a "phone interview." This consists of some fuckwit on the other end reading off borderline incoherent questions.

"Tell me of a time when you dropped your work to do anything else, and this could be with your friends, family or other."

The fuck kind of question is that? Physically dropped? Like on the floor? Dropped as in the slang for "stopped what you were doing?" Fucking morons write this shit. Of course I fail these phone interviews every single time even though I give precise and excellent answers to this drivel.

In person interviews are no better. You meet with some dumb 20 year old girl who asks you the same questions, but you get to see what goes on behind the scenes.

"Tell me of a time when you left your work incomplete, but had to work harder to finish your work" is one I got yesterday.

That question doesn't even make fucking sense. If I left the work incomplete... then is was left INCOMPLETE! Of course I answered by saying there is no time in recent memory that I left my work incomplete.

This dumb little bitch writes "did not answer."

So... the process is this.. You meet with some stupid little whore who asks you questions written by a pajeet on SSRI's, paraphrases your answers, then hands them off to some dumb fat bitch ("hiring manager") you've never met who glances over the paper the first bitch filled out for you.

JOB INTERVIEWS LITERALLY DON'T EVEN EXIST ANYMORE. This must be hell.

Oh yeah, and one job asked me 2 questions only through an email link. What is my race and gender? They denied me within 15 minutes of me answering those.

Those temp jobs often lead to full time jobs. Happened to me.. I moved to a new town once. Went to local construction temp place with my tool belt and a tool box. I said I can do this this this that that and can learn new skills. Get me on a job site. Once I get to the job site I can make good impression. Again, a smart white man who tells the truth and works hard is rare. You WILL stand out compared to the low level dumb nigs. Spics can work hard but they aren't smart and a lot is lost in translation. I've been hired away from the temp agencies on more than one occasion. Had a few shitty situations where they really only wanted the labor temporarily.

Why does someone hire a temp? They need labor and don't want to deal with the HR, workers comp, background checks, drug tests, etc. They want the temp agency to handle that shit and take much of the liability off them.

I remember there was a young guy in his 20s who somehow got into the thysun Krupp elevator union and he was probably making more money than the project manager on the site. Getting into a trades union can be a real sweet job. They get lots of breaks, tools, make a killing in overtime, etc. pipe fitters, electricians, elevator techs, steel workers, etc.

I found a niche on a large federal construction site. They had huge 40 foot containers with boxes and boxes of parts. I basically inventoried everything and provided parts to all the subcontractors on the site. Did that for about a year on a federal job site making over a $1000 per week after taxes. I saved up over $30k for a down payment on a house working that job. The project manager wanted to hire me out to help build a hospital in Baltimore. Looking back I should have taken that offer but I stayed local painting houses for a shitty $150 per day.

Yeah with how faggy IT and dev has gotten I wish I had gone through the teades like my brother after he knocked up his fatass girlfriend. He wound up taking his pregnant wife to her senior prom. I lived across a hayfield from a trailer park in a town of around 300 people where I could ride my bike to the Amish farms.

Your last story reminded me of something I personally witnessed on a large site. I was in some construction custodian company and they got this one tiny hispanic dude to drive a little buggy around the site delivering brooms and water and shit to us. For whatever reason they fired him for being a temp but he was in contact with some pipefitters and they hired him on, got him his CDL and now he drives a giant flatbed around all day delivering materials for easily over $1k a week, I think he's still there to this day.
