This was common behavior for knightly men of good breeding. When Baron Richtoffen was shot down, the British gave him an elaborate funeral with a priest and everything.

Sousa composed a [dirge](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXoZI6-dLDE) honoring Quentin's death, which is my favorite of all his works.

Personally I disagree. Doing honors for the death of the son of one of the best presidents in American history is not being too nice, it's appropriate. Theodore's progressive (true sense of the word, not the modern sense) policies were resembled *significantly* in the third reich, although hitler erred moderately left of Roosevelt.
