Child bearing women are a precious resource - so precious they are used as currency in international trade!
The rational strategy would be to make the women a gilded cage so they will appreciate their position and trade fertility for comfort.
Instead, they are treated worse than farm animals. Even the domestic servants are treated better.
The show is oppression porn. It's OK. I haven't seen all 5 series but I'm sure it is going to get sillier as time goes by.
