The thing that sealed the deal for me when it comes to blacks is how my racist self told my parents that "civil rights were about black people not having to live around other blacks" and my dad told me about one of his black coworkers (who to be honest was a halfway decent guy) and how during the "civil rights movement" the only thing this black guy wanted to do is be able to move into a White neighborhood because his family would be safe and his house wouldn't be burned down.

Whites have never wanted to force themselves into non-White places (unless they're conquering said non-White places). White people never say "ermagahd I whant to live ahround blacks und hisspanicks". (and to be honest, neither have blacks or hispanics)
