Correct, it poofs a trail, disperses, and then vanishes.

Contrails and chemtrails are both real, and they're challenging to distinguish at a glance (by design). The time lapse is the simplest method to tell them apart.

No time lapse video exists of 'chemtrails' turning into overcast, because it never happens.

This pic is of two separate cloud layers. Quite obvious in the 3rd and middle pic.
