The Romans holocausted the jews in 70 AD and then:
* Had a triumphal march celebrating their victory
* Built two arches (the [Arch of Titus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arch_of_Titus) still survives)
* Partially funded the Colosseum
* Built the [Temple of Peace](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_of_Peace,_Rome)

No hiding or lying. If you asked the Romans "did you holocaust those jews?" the answer would be "yes and here's why..."
