I haven't read it in a long time, but it's very similar to George Orwells 1984. Sex and drugs are mandated and regulated to keep people distracted and docile.

The story revolves around someone who finds a way to slowly get his medications reduced, and so slowly starts to see the world for what it is.

I'd recommend it off the memory of the read.
