This is not only wrong, but stupid. It is possible for an object to be obscured by something, like fog, and come into view "a little at a time". This does not explain why, on a clear day, the top of a tall object is seen first - unless we live on the surface of a ball, where it makes perfect sense.

Wrong again: light does seem to travel forever. We can see light from stars billions of light-years away. There is no reason we would be unable to see the sun in the sky at all times. We can see the moon in the day; the much brighter sun should always be visible to everyone on the surface at all times, if we lived on a flat surface.

The sun does not "compress". No light source compresses. The sun appears to sink below a horizon because it is obscured by the curvature of the earth.

The tops of the clouds would be expected to remain bright long after the ground is dark, because the clouds are higher off the ground! How are you unable to see how this damages the retard perspective? For the same reason, people at the top of a very tall tower (Burj Khalifa in Dubai) can see the sun in the sky when people on the ground can't. The further away from the surface you are, the longer the sun would be visible, because the earth itself is no longer blocking your view. The extreme example of this is a rocket leaving earth and heading away from the sun. Not long into the journey, the sun will be visible over 99% of the time, because now the earth can't block the sun's light unless it is directly between you and the star itself.
