Exactly. The most selfish generation. I realized years ago that both my parents truly didn't care about me at all. They just give the facade that they do but truthfully, they only care about themselves. I gather most people are like this but I've received more genuine kindness from strangers than I have from my parents. Both my parents just like for there to be no problems and for everything to be in order and happy but they don't care to actually solve your problems to help you, they just don't want you to have problems to bother them with. My mom believes in leaving wealth to me but only because it isn't her wealth (she just go remarried to another guy who has money) and my dad who has wealth got tricked by his new wife to basically leave her and her kids nearly everything and leaving as little to me as possible.

I'm at the point where I just hate the nonstop talmudvision watching. It's annoying to watch and I'm at my wits end. It's like everything I say is hand waved away and some pacifiying TV show takes its place. So done.

I've literally had my mother tell me to watch certain TV shows because of how well they depict what happens in real life. I'm like uhhhh, mom, they don't depict anything to do with real life, it's all scripted and made-up. It's the very opposite of depicting anything real. She doesn't get it. When they make a TV show themed with like Ireland 100 years ago or the mafia or modern geopolitics, she actually thinks whatever she sees on TV is an accurate portrayal of reality.
I just had this conversation with my dad. People have no idea how much media influences and brainwashes them. I'm trying to be careful watching stuff I watch and see, especially here, because it affects my moods so much.
I want to live somewhere tech free or tech light. Its really negatively affecting us all. Lots of good info but it's like a massive amount of influence.
