What I'm saying is that you need to step up from lower calibers at this point.
Standard 5.56 is fine for soft targets/non armored. If your enemies are anything more than a roving pack of ferals, you'll want something with more penetration and stopping power.

You're paying for the roller delayed blowback, which I would prefer on a battle rifle in all honesty.
I'm actually surprised you can get AR-10's for that cheap. I haven't been shopping in a long while, just ammo replenishment. I'd personally rather save up the extra cash for a PTR, but if you're at your limit and want to put something in your hands, it's infinitely better than having nothing.
