Not even close to the largest deportation in European history. After WWII about 9,000,000 people were sent back to the country that matched their ethnicity, French back in France, Germans in Germany, Hungarians to Hungary, etc.

All this to remove the mixing of culture that were always the hotspot for war, interestingly enough, the places that remained mixed are where the European wars have started after WWII.
