God is so brutal in the Old Testament because of the immense evil of the peoples opposing the Israelites. (Child sacrifice, phallic/sex worship, etc.)
The God of the Old Testament is the same as the God of the New Testament. Yahweh is a somewhat recent term so I’m not talking about specific names.
Wouldn’t it be strange for Jesus to quote the Old Testament if it is the religious texts of a false god?
Why does he refer to the law of the Old Testament if it is the law of another god?:
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. “ Matthew 5:17 ESV
“ And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. 2 And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. 3 And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him.” Matthew 17:1-3 ESV.
Why are Moses and Elijah here if they are part of a false god’s Old Testament?
Your argument has zero scriptural support and is literally the earliest heresy. Point me to a verse where Jesus denies the god of the Old Testament.
