if you're saying the Old Testament doesn't portray God then we're in trouble - that's who sent Jesus Christ to us so the New Testament could exist..

> Christ refers to his father as ‘Yahweh’ or “the god of the jews” zero times

it's rather jewish behaviour to rely on technical truths, isn't it?

> You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.

Jesus saying the old Scriptures are about Him, John 5:39-40

> “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."

Jesus clearly saying the Old Testament still has worth, Matthew 5:17-18

> ... In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah...

Jesus referring to Isaiah by name, Matthew 13:14

[here's a normie website for further reading.](https://www.blueletterbible.org/Comm/stewart_don/faq/bible-authoritative-word/question17-jesus-view-of-the-old-testament.cfm) God of the Old Testament is the same God of today. what we can agree on, if you wish, is that He has changed drastically in His presentation, leaving only the mystery of why His focus would be on a people that, today, are such wretched beings. about this topic we can only speculate, but what is clear is that the God of then is still the God of now, though made whole and clarified to us all through Jesus Christ.
