Yeah it sucks and those hollow doors they use in bedrooms these days are just as bad. Flimsy pieces of cardboard with shitty tinfoil doorknobs. Another thing jews have ruined.

It's all by design, these thin weak materials provides no insulation. Notice how modern houses are also built without roof overhang, and with big windows.

Back in the days before the AC was invented, indoor heat was regulated by providing shade for the windows and by using materials that keep the heat out, such as stone.

Now you depend on an electronic jew to keep your indoor temperature reasonable. While back in the days it was all Gods work.

Awnings and window shutters reduce the heat in summer it only takes a few screws and is a quick install anyone can do on a wooden frame.

Awnings are still very popular in Germany and Spain, although the modern version is this grotesque aluminium thing, rather than fabric or wood.

A lot of older houses would have good sized windows on opposite sides of the house, so you could open them all and get a breeze running through. Of course, modern builders don't care enough to figure out which direction catches the most wind, so just stick windows on wherever. They also had large, shaded porches where you could spend the hottest part of the day.

I once had an autistic tard rage fit in school and kicked a hole (ok, it was more of a pretty deep dent) in the drywall without even trying to.

Had a few of those when I grew up as well, tho the school building was properly built and the fat tard thew a brick against a window, which then bounced back and hit the tard in his head. Not a scratch on the window.

1ft thick brick wall as well, pretty nice in the winter with heating elements under every window, watching the snow outside.

I once, when trying out my first pair of steel toed boots, kicked a section of wall that (due to layers of paint as I found out) deceptively appeared to have been made of something stronger than dry wall. I didn’t even kick it that hard, it was with my non dominant foot.

It wasn’t clean through but I dented the crap out of it and ended up seeing the inside of the wall by moving bits with my hands. I thought, particularly given the age on my house at the time, that it wasn’t drywall.

I grew up in a plaster built house. The walls do fall apart eventually and its not an easy fix

If you can afford it, cedar fence boards are already the standard 1/2” wall thickness. You just need to re-edge each piece with a table saw to prevent gaps. Or take the extra step and make tongue & groove with a router table.
