My mom was in town last month to visit and she brought a couple of her sisters so that I could show them around the state I live in. In the evenings, we'd hang out at the hotel they were staying at to chat and play games.

During conversation, my mom told me about a talk my dad had with her which was to the effect "Hey, should we give our kids a chunk of money now so they can do fun stuff with us?" and my mom told him "no".

I never would have just asked for a bunch of money just so that we could all enjoy it doing something special together and I don't *need* it. It would certainly help out though.

I told her I wish she hadn't told me about that discussion and we left it at that.

Rebuke her behavior. And talk with your father. Times are becoming such that it's necessary to speak up, even if it's upsetting. Your mother's feelings should not come before the well being of your family and it's integrity.

you need to change her mind quickly... when she gets too old and stubborn theres no way she will change anymore.
