I think with all the crap the Chinese have gone through with their dynasties and CCP, natural selection has turned them into drones that are content to live in dystopian environments.
China was enormously unstable for the vast majority of its history. To the tune of a new ungodly civil war every few years with tens of millions dead each time, or a new famine because of yellow river flooding every time somebody sneezed the wrong way, and aforementioned tens of millions dead. Or you get someone invading China like the Mongols or Japanese. Then you end up with, you guessed it, half of the population dead again.
Free thinking died with natural selection because the people who did something different and didn't keep their heads low just kind of fucking died, in every scenario, and usually the royal dynasties would kill everyone that challenged the status quo. Afterwards, there would be a new revolution, and then the revolutionaries would kill everyone with new ideas. Et al. So on and so forth. The Qing dynasty was particularly brutal and extremely repressive.
The CCP has really done little that's different in regards to overall Chinese history. When compared to the Qing dynasty, it's overall actually better with individualism and the spirit of invention. But these traits have been bred out of the Chinese anyways because the inventive among them have just died or been killed throughout history.
If you want inventive asians, go for rhe Japanese. The Chinese were once inventive, but their history has turned them into a rigid and extremely conformist people because of how risky it was to be something else in China's history. Especially the Qing dynasty forward.
The Chinese are an inversion or devolution from what northeast asians were actually evolutionarily supposed to be. They evolved for cold weather selection and thus higher physical strength and intelligence like whites, but China's history has destroyed both of these. Now they are overall somewhat high in intelligence but extremely lacking in either geniuses or morons, and apart from Olympic weightlifters, overall they're significantly weaker than their oldest ancestors. If you want northeast asians that are what they are physically supposed to be, shoot for Mongolians. If you want asians that are mentally what they're supposed to be, shoot for the Japanese. The Chinese are neither.
