That's not really what punching right/left means. It refers to how a political movement cucks itself by trying to contain its own fringes. Maintaining standards and gatekeeping are important, but for example it's a mistake for a Natsoc type to attack someone further to the right say an Evolian Traditionalist, for being "too extreme", when really they have the same cause and aims in the immediate future.
