LDS fast 24 hours every month, no food or drink or water. It is a time of prayer, reflection, resolution and supplication to the Almighty. We also donate money to the poor, visit the sick and lonely, etc...

I highly recommend it. Read Isaiah 58 too

Next fast is 11/3.
