We all are too dependent on globalism. That's the biggest issue. Until local economies and local support reigns over welfare from DC and imports from overseas, the regional structures will remain loose and weak.

If by we you mean the USA you couldn't be more wrong. The USA is probably the only country on this planet which could close its borders to trade and in a timespan of a decade be positive again. Other countries lile China, India, Germany etc rely on exports and imports for economic growth and basic amenities. The USA has agricultural and industrial output, it's own energy reserves and a lot more.

You're right. Except we aren't doing that. I'm talking about right now. Look at your own life and see how much of it relies on far away input.

Maybe you are different but the vast majority of Americans are dependent on the global supply chain and the federal government.
