ironically brewster kahle is one of the few i would make any sort of exception for, he and archive.org as a company have fought for media preservation since day 1, and is responsible for probably the most successful data hoard in history. the internet archive does (or rather, used to, they lost a lawsuit against copyright which only proves my point further) collection of billions of webpages, sound recordings, films, whatever you can get your hands on. the internet archive is a monument to both ephemeral and eternal works, and for its existence i am extremely grateful.
