My ancestral homeland is East Prussia... *yeah*. I'll literally never get to see it because it doesn't exist anymore and was wiped from history.

Have to admit, I'm somewhat envious of the ability to see the *actual* place of your roots. Mine is now kaliningrad. Almost everything that was there before that my ancestors would have seen is evaporated, and the people are entirely gone.

I’m also Irish and I was able to see my family home. Have you done an ancestry DNA test? It’s cool because it shows you map of where your ancestors used to live

I've been to Amsterdam. It was a pretty cool place... BUT between accidently being there during fag pride week and seeing the half a mile long line to get into the ann frank museum, I threw up in my mouth a little.

Prague and Vienna also had better old world architecture.

We fortunately didn’t do the museum. Pretty sure I saw a 100m pride flag. Not joking

If there's one thing that drives me nuts every day, that this video highlights, is my local architecture. Our society has deemed depressing, Cookie-cutter buildings and homes as the norm.

You can tell a lot about a people by their architecture....and ours has become drab and repetitive.

I'm happy you had a fun vacation.

Thanks. And I agree that that America has lots of “Vinyl Villages”. Developers will clear cut the trees and build identical houses with no variation. The neighborhoods with no trees feel desolate. Then you’ll see a sign in front of the community that says “Starting in the 300s”. ($300k
