(((Their))) wet dream is disposable cars, such as EVs, the limited lifespan of batteries ensures that the entire fleet is replaced every 10 years or so. Which means whatever new mass surveillance or other fuckery (((they))) want in every car will be in every new car within the next 10 years.

ICE vehicles can last forever, engines can be rebuilt, engines can be transferred from other vehicles, the supporting infrastructure has been the same for over a century and is fully compatible with all ICE cars. There's no way for (((them))) to forcefully install fuckery into already existing cars.
