Back in 92 I bought a house had sat empty for almost 3 years. There was a stick of margarine sitting on top of the fridge untouched by all the bugs and rodents that had eaten all the boxed food in the cupboards... They ate some of the boxes too.

Pemmican is a damn good trail food that thousands of whites also prepared and lived off of while moving westward. Also way more ergonomic than barrels full of salt pork and far better for health and energy than hardtack.

I cook on Saturdays for the elderly with a vegan (who actually doesn't mention it unless you offer her food from an animal) and keep having to remind her not to throw out the meat drippings, fats, and oils. If you can't use it for another meal such as soup or gravy or to sautee then we can give it to people with dogs.
