Martin Luther was a literal Philosemite in his earlier years, Lutheranism is literally Judaized Catholicism. I take everything he says about the jews with a grain of salt, because his main reason for hating them is due to them tricking him into putting a dagger in the back of Christianity, which he never fully acknowledged.
Yeah there is no reason for them not to think it anyways because the Church's interpretation of Israel was always spiritual until the church for hijacked. This idea of a chosen people who could do whatever the hell they wanted was never biblical. God humbled kings like David and he told Israel he was their king and the only reason he would give them kings is so they could fail and prove his right to rule.
Edomites were living with jews. God says he hates Edomites because what they would do to his brother Jacob. The idea all these people claiming to be "jewish" were one singular ethnogroup of people by that point is laughable anyways. You had Egyptians who intermarried with Jews and came with them out of Egypt. You had Israelites who disobeyed orders and took wives from the people who were in Israel before it was conquered by Joshua. Moses took a wife from Cush.
The religion is what really made them a people and the lines of Judah and the priests. After Jesus came there was no reason to have proof of those lines and God scattered them to the wind so they couldn't even create fabrications. The farthest back anyone even has claims and has records is Ethiopian Jews via Solomon screwing lots of women and Israel sterilized Ethiopian Jewish refugee women without their consent while the chief Rabbi of Israel called them monkeys lol.
Other that that? Good luck claiming to be full Israelite, let alone half or less. If you are loaning people money though Deut chapter 28 says you are a fraud so that's a no go for kikes lol.
