Pagans converted because rabbi Jesus promised eternal life, and threaten hell if you didn't convert. It's a big scam that is very effective with the dumb masses, especially if they are made up of desperate people.
Christianity converts people through psychological terrorism. Nobody chooses Christianity freely, the fear of going to hell is always the primary motivator.

As for advancements, it's only due to Aryan technology which was done in spite of Christianity, not because of it.
Most of subsaharian Africa is Christian, where are their advancements?
