People really think they can go "hide" on land they "bought" out in the sticks. First, what happens if you don't pay your property taxes with cold hard cash? Yeah, see? You don't really own shit. Even the Amish aren't exempt from taxes and conscription.

They're not going to leave you alone. If anything, you're the first on their list because you're the least dependent on them, meaning they have the least influence on you and they don't like that. These people who think they can "escape" into the wilderness are delusional.
