I half remember this story about an ai uprising winning the war against humanity and one of the bots keeping humans as "pets"

It would remove the head from the body and put it in a pod so it could be constantly stimulated with pain and kept alive for 100s of years.

That seems like a fitting "on earth" punishment if only the tech existed.
