The little girl that said she wants to be a mom and the one at the end are exactly what we are fighting for. Preserving that innocence and goodness.

Which means we will have to do some extremely unpalatable things to protect them; but I grow more and more comfortable with that with each passing day.

Being ruthless even for a righteous cause is not something most people are capable of, but I'd rather take on that burden instead of leaving it to our descendants to deal with... which by that point will be too late anyway. At least that makes things pretty simple and straightforward.
