I think there is a genetic aspect to evil because many of us instinctually feel it when we see people who look like goblins or vampires or hear a wicked cackle or maniacal laugh from what sounds like a witch or devil/demon. We get chills, goosebumps, feel nauseated, uneasy and altered when we encounter them which implies a genetic defense mechanism against a natural threat.
