Your parents/grandparents are old enough to remember the era when being a sodomite was regarded as an abominable sin and/or serious mental illness - but then the fags suddenly became famous TV hosts.

You are probably old enough to remember when a man in a dress was just a gag in a comedy movie - nobody seriously thought of them as being legit women.
