Because death is too merciful a fate for them. If being forced to do an honest day's work in camps is the worst thing that ever happened to them, it is abundantly clear that honest work is what they hate the most.

No, no... death is the ideal fate for them. It's not about pleasing our senses of justice, but about doing what needs to be done, once and for all. I have enough of the rats surviving forever.
