Lack of foresight. They fish to the point of depleting fish populations, and they destroy farmland in hopes of getting any meagre bit of food out of it.

Barely even that. Haitians just up and abandoned farmland for no fucking reason during the mid 20th century to move to actual shantytowns and just left the farms to rot. Again, for no actual reason. They now have to export all of their food because nobody is growing it.

Dumb niggers burning down farms for no reason is the other cause, though.

Haiti is also a potential mecca for aquaculture because of the environment, but they're stupid niggers. So they haven't exactly figured that one out yet. Even though Europeans and asians figured it out literal milennia ago.
