It's a little history lesson, but the siren song of materialist wealth was crowding out the traditional Christianity and morality that was inherited in the US. Of course the jews had a major role in this, but there were people in the previous generation who nailed Christ to the cross again for material gain and favor with the jews.
It's going to take a while to undo the generational damage done by the Boomers, but that's what we've done time and again throughout history. I have great hopes that Gen Z will be the ones to re-discover Christ and make him a priority. There was a time when money was practically useless and material wealth meant practically nothing. Maybe they will be the ones to realize this ultimate truth.
